I generally store the image file they send me on my ham computer. I wrote a
program to automatically generate a reply "QSL card" picture based on info
in my log, and I typically send it to the QRZ email address for the
station. The image has all the information that my actual QSL cards have,
and it's high enough resolution that I think it would look good if printed.

Personally, I like exchanging QSL cards (physical or digital). It's
unlikely that awards will accept picture QSL cards. Maybe receiving a card
from me will lift their spirits a little like receiving their card did for
me.
