Congrats, Bob! I think have you beat by a bit but I'm actually not sure:
For at least 40 years I've sent 69 as my Sweepstakes check, because my memory
is that I was in junior high school when I became WN2ADH. But, my original log
books (the ones where you logged every unanswered CQ...) got lost years ago.
I recently searched the QST archives, the earliest I can find WN2ADH is 1972
Novice Roundup with a whopping 78 Qs. I think that means I probably got my
novice in 1970, as a freshman in high school.
Doesn't seem that long ago that QCWA seemed like a bunch of ancient Hiram Percy
Maxims... If only as a teenager I'd been smart enough to ask my parents for a
ARRL life membership, instead of a Heathkit phone patch, I'd be rich!
