I think the Hope Hotel has so few double rooms because almost all of it's
business is mostly military people traveling for business at WPAFB. I stayed at
the Hope Hotel a couple years ago in a single queen room. They charge the same
price for a single room then they do for a double room. I understand there is a
high demand but I know of no other hotel that does this. I don't think the
Crowne Plaza even did this.
BTW this isn't a criticism because I know K3LR had a challenge finding
someplace big enough with conference rooms etc.. when they decided to move on
from the Crowne Plaza. I good thing about the Hope Hotel is there is plenty of
parking. Remember when the contesting activities were at the Crowne Plaza and
it was hard to find a parking place in the garage on Saturday when you came
back from the Hamvention because of the other events going on downtown?
