I really don't like not knowing where my carrier is, so I choose to use
XIT intelligently. I leave the N1MM+ feature turned off, but then I dial
in between 20 and 60 Hz of offset using XIT when I S&P.
If you don't understand what I just wrote, just leave the N1MM+ feature
turned on because it's better that way.
Barry, from what I remember, the default setting is for the feature to
be ON out-of-the-box. You have to uncheck it on purpose.

Very good point to enable it. it should be automatically disabled in SSB.

Just please make sure this is done only for CW contests. Calling off
frequency on SSB only makes things more difficult to copy, while not
leaving the frequency any more clear.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] N1MM Setting for Avoiding Zero Beat
In the Telnet > Filters window, the N1MM Logger software has a nice spot
freq "randomizer" setting:
Randomize incoming spot frequencies
"Automatically adds or subtracts a small amount from the received spot
frequency, so as to improve your chances of breaking a “packet pileup” when
you click on a spot."
