Here are some statistics from the CQWW DX Contest database to put this all in perspective. Note this is for USA Multi-Multi entries only.

 * W3LPL did their first CQWW DX SSB Multi-Multi in 1978 and have done
it every year since then (other than 2014 which they missed)
 * W3LPL did their first CQWW DX CW Multi-Multi in 1979 and have done
   it every year since then.
 * W3LPL first CQWW DX SSB Multi-Multi win was in 1987
 * W3LPL first CQWW DX CW Multi-Multi win was in 1987

 * K3LR did their first CQWW DX SSB Multi-Multi in 1994 and have done
   it every year since then.
 * K3LR did their first CQWW DX CW Multi-Multi in 1994 and have done it
   every year since then.
 * K3LR first CQWW DX SSB Multi-Multi win was in 1998
 * K3LR first CQWW DX CW Multi-Multi win was in 2004

 * Since 1978, which was the first year W3LPL entered CQWW DX SSB
multi-multi the only stations (other than K3LR) to win this category
   are KC1XX, W2PV, N2AA, N2RM and N5AU
 * Since 1979, which was the first year W3LPL entered CQWW DX CW
multi-multi the only stations (other than K3LR) to win this category
   are KC1XX, N2RM, K1AR, N2AA and W2PV

 * Since 1994, which was the first year K3LR entered CQWW DX SSB
multi-multi the only stations (other than W3LPL) to win this
   category are KC1XX and N2RM
 * Since 1994, which was the first year K3LR entered CQWW DX CW
multi-multi the only stations (other than W3LPL) to win this
   category are KC1XX and N2RM

It's sad to hear these streaks are ending this year due to COVID-19.

We do not know at this time what might happen. This is a fluid situation.

Does this mean these stations will be idle during these contests?

Or are you and Frank going to put on some great single-operator efforts?

Due to health concerns caused by COVID-19, the W3LPL and K3LR teams have
made the decision not to compete in the Multi Multi or Multi Two
categories
during CQWW Phone and CQWW CW for 2020. W3LPL and K3LR have mutually come
to
the conclusion that we cannot take the risk of someone getting sick with
the
number of people involved in Multi Multi category operations.

Both W3LPL and K3LR remain hopeful that science will allow our teams to
resume Multi Multi operations in 2021.
