I sure would like to have that problem after having another mediocre SS
score. But I guess GA isn't that rare :(
BTW great participation in Sweepstakes by you guys in Canada this
weekend! I counted 7 MAR stations and three VO1's in my log. The only
Canadian sections that I didn't work more than one station were MB
(VE4VT) and NT (VY1AAA). I can't recall that ever happening before.

Hans,
I heard a similar instance with a VE6 on 20m. I needed the mult, but
the pileup was so unruly. Then about an hour later, I saw him spotted
on 160m and went there - nice and quiet with a good signal, so had the
qso quickly into the log (that was my only qso on 160m!). I think he
moved there just to get out of the fray.
I do think that in SS in particular, some of the operators in the
rarer sections are scared off by the huge pileups that occur.
Especially if the station in the section is not as skilled in handling
high speed pileups. I had single qso/section in VY1, PR and VI. All
these three were seasoned contesters. I hate to think what would
happen if a newly licensed operator came on the air from VY1!!

Callers were relentless and just pounding the poor fellow at 35wpm

SS, or, how about no spotting of stations above x050. Hope that
fellow comes back.”
I think that Jon’s proposal of “…..no spotting of stations above
x050….” is a bright shining diamond of an idea!
Hey, guys, let’s start a movement!
