...I have a modicum of sympathy for those who bust it. Of course they should
have listened, but, being an old fart, I still get mildly annoyed when the
"KH6" I hear is in Montana or the "W6" is in Florida or the "KH0" is in
Colorado. Most of us grew up in ham radio believing that "9" was Illinois,
Indiana, or Wisconsin. Jim's and my contest club (the Northern California
Contest Club) has several W1s, including the current president. This train has,
of course, left the station and I do understand how attached we become to our
calls, but keeping them after a big move contributes to confusion.

I moved from Chicago to Santa Cruz in 2006 -- my last operation from
Chicago was 2005. yet I'm STILL getting busts for a QTH of IL!
