| I went to my first Hamvention in 1980 at Hara Arena and haven't missed
one since. Even in Hara's current condition, I would rather have
attended 37 Hamventions at Hara than none at all.
I am sure there will be growing pains with Hamvention at the new venue,
but I have faith that both the organizers and attendees will be able to
copy and it will all work out fine.

I am sorry I missed out on it at the old location. It is not the

That's a good thing -- the HARA location had several important virtues
-- 1) large outdoor areas for flea market and parking, 2) large indoor
areas for exhibits and presentations, 3) geographic location within a
day's drive of many hams, 4) it was CHEAP.
Do be sorry that you missed the Hamvention so far, but don't be at all
sorry that you missed out on HARA -- it was a DUMP. It's a tribute to
those who put on so many Hamventions there that they made it work for
us. When the announcement that it was closing was posted, one
prominent NCCC member volunteered to contribute to the dynamite to
blow it up!
