The problem is someone (KP4KE) operating in contest with signal (kW) that does not correspond to category operated and claimed (QRP, LP). The result is "QRP Record" or score that is outrageous = CHEATING.

KP4KE has been doing it for while, see number of his scores and records in QRP category. Sometimes he is even louder than KV4FZ and then shows up in QRP column. Those who have been around for a while know the "magic" of propagation from simple dipole or vertical antenna, QRP close to HP? This really deserves visit to the "champ" during the contest.

Sadly this has been around for awhile. There is another remarkable score and signals on 160 from IV3TAN/IG9, like being only signal from Eu/Af around 2 pm in VE1. I was intrigued and did some checking around to find that his single element vertical was "fed" by 3 phase power, which would hint at some 15 kW.

Things like that tend to poison and devalue our contesting. If not playing by the rules, what's the point?

Some would say what you send doesn't matter as long was the submitted log contains the correct category and that you consistently send the same value. Others argue that you should send the power you are running - again use the same value for all the QSOs you have. As with most of these debates I don't think a conclusion was reached in the earlier debate. Similar deal for All Asia where you send your age or the check value in Sweepstakes.
