In a previous post I listed current W#Y* univ/college radio club
callsigns. I also tossed in a few other club callsigns. Several people
replied with callsigns that I neglected. Just for the record I am listing
them below. KA5WSS was kind enough to suggest a much better source for

I highly recommend this site. It is really neat. If you want current
info, please go there since my info is incomplete and, in some cases,

I think the point is being missed here partly due to NA2N's somewhat
complicated analogy. Since I just moved from the area in question, I have
some insight to what NA2N is seeing as a problem.
The former CAC rep from the Hudson Division was also the president of the
YCCC. During the reign of the CAC rep, he tended to represent ALL issues
before the CAC in the best interest of the YCCC. This was just fine for the
YCCC position on CAC issues.
The problem was that he tended to ignore the local and small clubs that
might be affected by the decisions he made. He never went out to
specifically solicit the small club's opinion. And when he got unsolicited
opinions from a small club, he tended to ignore them or just respond with a
sarcastic comment.
The Hudson Valley Contesters and DXers (HVCDX) club is a true "local club"
in every sense of the intent of what a local club should be. The HVCDX is in
the mid-Hudson Valley and tried, unsuccessfully, to let the Hudson Division
CAC rep know that some of the actions he was pushing before the CAC were not
in the best interest of small or local clubs. The CAC rep wasn't interested
in listening to them.
Now the CAC rep for the Hudson Division has moved on and the hopes were that
his replacement might be willing to be more responsive to local club issues.
Since the replacement is also a YCCC member and a past YCCC president, the
fear is that CAC policy will continue to be more of the same. Many felt that
the next CAC rep should have been chosen from the ranks of contesters not
from a mega-club (specifically the YCCC).
I know the new CAC rep quite well and I think his heart is in the right
place. My advice to him would be to try to be as open-minded, unbiased, and
fair as I know he can be. When issues arise that affect all tiers of club
contesting, to be sure to listen to what everyone has to say before making a
decision. And, finally, for him to remember that he represents an area where
the YCCC is in the minority and not the majority. Everyone's opinion should
be important to the CAC.
