I've seen some gentlemen telling some stories about CW so I thought
I would add one of my own.
This year I took a trip in May and I had my Yaesu FT757 installed in
the Explorer for some mobile operations. It turns out I get a lot of
hash from the car, so I did a lot of listening, and periodically I
would turn to CW and just key the sidetone to give my wife (WD9ENF)
some practice.
At one time instead of sending the CW I reached over and grabbed her
hand and said," try copying this way," while I squeezed characters
on her hand. I told her that skill might come in handy some day
(she's a nurse; we've all heard the stories...).
About a month later we were at a wedding of our daughter's friend,
and as we sat down for dinner at the reception we were joined by a
couple the gentleman of which was wearing an ugly toupee. I reached
for my wife's hand and squeezed out, ._. .._ _ _.
She said, "really? I think it's just a bad haircut."
I told her it might come in handy!
(please, no "what does this have to do with..." flames. It's just a
break in the action)

Regarding my 'long' contest stories, I received similar messages to the =
following from several people:
"I think I know what Bill's (N3RR) problem is, and in fact is my problem =
as well. You have set your mailer so that there is no word wrap. You =
may not realize this because your mail reader automatically sees your =
own messages as normally word wrapped. Both Bill and I use Netscape =
mail (I know, it stinks but being computer and digitally illiterate I do =
not want to try to configure a better mail reader - Netscape (ver 2.01) =
works 0.k. 99.5% of the time). I am even reasonably sure that you can =
fix the word wrap problem in Netscape but neither I nor anyone I know =
can figure out how to do it and HELP as usual is worthless."
I am not a Netscape user, but I have heard of this problem before and =
know there is a solution. Any of you Netscape experts that could give a =
procedure to fix this and put it to the reflector? Then Trey could add =
it to the FAQ.
I write my e-mails using Microsoft Exchange. It seems to handle every =
message I see on here, including those with attachments, effortlessly. =
If you run Windows 95, have an independent ISP, I highly recommend that =
you check it out (it came free with Win95!).

I have used the EXTEND product quite extensively and recommend that you
lightly sand after it cures and apply your favorite paint. The black color
of the dried product is the result of a chemical reaction that creates an
iron oxide polemer. The product was originally intended for rusted auto
body metal to arrest the rusting process.
