Next time, just take her along.
While at VP2 fer the WPX, Mary Beth discovered she REALLY does like to
contest !
To quote "Where we going next?"
To quote "Isn't there another contest we could go off for coming up
soon?"
To quote "I always thought your hobby had it's good points."
To quote "The next contest expedition we go on, will there be more
shopping available?"
To quote "Honey, get ur code speed up so u can work more stations faster
next time and go to beach with me more next time ?!?"
To quote "I guess we won't be going to see my folks next Thanksgiving, so

Yes bring them along on the trip. My XYL sat and read books on the beach in
Aruba for a whole week while I played (worked!) in CQWW one year. At first I
felt sorry for her that she had nothing to do....Turns out thats exactly what
she wanted. Nothing to do! (However, we did do our share of snorkling/swiming
and other fun stuff after the contest was over.)
BTW, Just this past weekend, the same XYL and I were working in the backyard
when I saw her gazing at the 7 ele monobander on my rotatable skyneedle. She
looked at me and said,"You know, in a way, it really is quite beautiful isnt
it?".
Wow, How about that!
Wish I had a tape recorder:-)

I guess we'll have to find somewhere else to do it!!

N6TR ver 5.20 (1st time used)
I should get 2 STUPID awards for this effort. First, I had a 15 minute
timeout
8 minutes into the contest after working WA2SRQ for the second time. I was
attempting to figure out how to log him and the computer kept calling him a
DUPE and
wouldn't allow me to log him. After much head scratching and manual
reading, figured
it out. Then, today at lunch when I was preparing the log to send to Tree,
I did a COPY
of log.tmp to log.dat instead of a MERGE and I basically destroyed my log.
WOW,
bad happening. HELLO negative points :-)) !!!
Band conditions were very bad here in SD, signals were strange on 20m. One
minute
a signal would be loud, then the next very weak. Best sigs go to K5ZD, K7GM
and K4PQL
with many other good ones. 40m was a veritable weak signal fest.
But, had a great time again, can't wait for the next one! I need more time
to figure
out N6TR software!
Thanks for all the Q's

Subject: Full details on the SEANET contest
Please find below the entire rules, etc. for the SEANET contest, from
Eshee, 9M2FK.
Obviously, the sooner this is posted on the contest reflector, the
sooner it will appear in bulletins and ham magazines. We will probably do
a mailing separately to the likes of QST, etc. Rather than for me to post
this to the contest reflector, which I do not subscribe to, I thought it
might be more appropriate for you to do this -- if that's Okay with you.
Looking forward to our sked this evening; have not checked the solar
condx yet, but will do after this.
Here follows text, rules, etc. of the SEATEST '95.

=== END TEXT OF CONTEST RULES ====
The only real anomalies I note is the inclusion of ZK (Cook Is) which is
slap in the mid-Pacific, and the exclusion of KH0 if they are going to
include KH2... (but that's nit-picking?); also feel that YA should be in
there, and wonder why the Asian countries of the former USSR might not be
included -- not that they check in to SEANET very often. UA0, UA9 and JT
would seem to fit the bill too, but it could be argued that they are in
Region 1. Anyhow, let me know if sending this on to the Contest Reflector
poses any problems, and if so, I'll look up the address in the CQ Almanac
and post it myself. It should be easy enough either to forward, and edit
out my contents in pine, or to save it to a file, edit it, add any
comments of your own, and then post.
See you on sked.
