I have a Radio Shack 18 volt, 4 amp transformer that I have been using with a
dropping resistor for a pair of 3CX800's. It makes me nervous, because if a
filament opens on one tube, the filament voltage on the other tube would spike.
I would like to remove some turns from the secondary and bring it down to 13.5
volts. Doesn't look like a trivial task to disassemble it. Suggestions ?

2ea 3cx800s only draw 3 amps. I use a small (12.6V 3A) radio shack transformer
and simply added more turns to the secondary for my 2X 3cx800 amp. Still working
after 20 years.
Thanks

Have several RS 12.6Vac rated 3Amps and those work fine for Single 3cx800
(measure 13.4Vdc)
Now have project with dual 3cx800
