The IC-706 is one of those transceivers that produce RF *AFTER*
the HSEND line is released.  You will need a timing circuit to
hold the PTT to your amplifier closed for 5-10ms after HSEND
goes high.

I've seen documentation from an N0 (scope pictures) and a circuit
from AD5X <http://www.ad5x.com/images/Articles/QSKDelayRevA.pdf>
