That works until it doesnt and then creates a nice wild plasma arc. That is something to watch!!

I always thought the way to make a h.v. fuse was to bolt a pair of
ceramic standoffs in a convenient location, making them around 2 or 3
inches apart, and stretch a very thin gage copper wire between them,
roughly at or slightly less then the diameter of the plate choke wire,
then run the B+ line through this.   The standoffs should be taller
than the distance between them.
