## I realize that. Just don’t try and operate the L4B at 1200-1300 watts
out on CW..with B+ in the ssb mode. The cooling is marginal at best,
and the outborad B+ supply is not up to the task.
All my xcvrs put out 200+ watts, so no big deal to drive anything. IMD
from a 200 watt xcvr, on ssb mode..when running 100 w pep out, is
very low, non issue.

Jim, my response was a little toungue-in-cheek. I know that I will never see
1200W out of my L4B with 40 watts of drive. My point was to be happy with what
the amp does produce when reasonably driven. "Care and Feeding of Power Grid
Tubes" comes to mind.
Cheers.

< Steve.? I would thrilled to get 1200 watts out of my L4B with 40 watts drive
.

## 40 watts to drive an L4B to 1200 watts.... not gonna happen anytime soon,
not with
2500 vdc under load..and 800 ma plate current. I get 1290w pep out of my 4 x
L4Bs
on 80m, with calibrated watt meters..and abt 100w pep drive.
