Yup! Get the good ones. They are now down from ~$100 73, Roger (K8RI) On 1/5/2017 5:28 AM, Bill Turner wrote: ------------ ORIGINAL MESSAGE ------------(may be snipped) On Thu, 5 Jan 2017 04:48:03 -0500, K8RI wrote:BTW cables and wiring used in aircraft MUST be crimped. For some reason, hams seem to prefer soldered over crimped, but if properly done, you can try to pull apart a crimped connection and the wire will break before the crimp lets go. Incidentally, please don't use those two dollar crimpers. A proper crimper has a ratchet that won't let go until the full cycle is complete and should cost around $20 more or less. You need one for wires and one for coax unless you can find one with changeable dies. 73, Bill W6WRT _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/amps --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/amps |
