### They rate the SPE 1.3K-FA amp at up to 1500w pep out on ssb. That’s
absurd.
It would be an IMD garbage truck if run at that po.

## Who is going to repair your amp when it blows up ...esp with no schematic
available ?

### The SPE 2.0K-FA isnt much better..rated at 2.0 kw pep out..using just 6 x
MRF-151Gs.
They are only rated for 300w each, maxed to the peg. The higher voltage
version of a
MRF-151G is called a VRF-151G. And two of those are used in the ARRL 250w
pep out amp.
Two of em run very clean, IMD wise..at 200-250w pep out. A friend built that
amp, and it works
very well.....when run at 200-250 pep out.....and not the 600W absolute max
rated output.

## Even maxed to the peg, 6 of em would be good for 1800w....not 2000. On
ssb, 6 of em would be clean
at 600-750w pep out, that’s it. At the claimed 2000w pep out on ssb, again,
it would be very poor
IMD products.

## Is anybody really impressed with the .... 35,000 lines of code built into
the cpu on these things ??

I do not read any specs except the output power.
I will never repair my 2K myself.
I enjoy its results and smile while I get 'em first call.
