*** OK, that explains it.  I once read an article in ( I think ) 73
Magazine about a tour they took of an asian television factory.  This
factory had two production lines - the big one that made TVs for sale with
all possible speed, and a second, smaller "training" production line -
that also made TVs for sale - staffed by new hires.   After six months on
the
"training" line, people would graduate up to the real one.

   They could do this because they had the volume.  Ham radio
manufacturing, OTOH, just doesn't have the quantities.  It's a real
problem.  Easier to handle for the "price is no object" crowd, like
Alpha.

Possibly an opportunity for a consulting company to develop a training for
MFJ.  A combination of on-line and hands-on to teach people the tricks and
techniques.
