I have a 4-Runner and they installed the rig for me at the dealership.

The only cars I've had problems with were that T-bird going full 
throttle and the whole Chrysler "cab forward" group with the V-6 and it 
was only with that specific engine.  At near a city block one of those 
was louder than the local repeater on 147.00 two miles away. I could 
activate all the computers on the lot going the other direction, but 
they didn't do anything that I could tell.  The dealer took one off the 
lot, put it in the garage and started disconnecting "things".  They 
traced it right to the computer.

The dealer was very helpful, but Chrysler refused to even talk about it.

They apparently changed/fixed the computer in later years. At least I've 
not noticed any more problems since that year, but I haven't gone 
looking either.
