I found a application note by Bill Orr on the tube and it even specs the tube
for cathode driven AB2.
For about 100 watts drive it produces 900 watts output. I believe the filament
was 8.3 volts. I need to find it again.
Got it off the internet but can't find the link now. The grid bias was -50
volts and plate 3000. Cathode impedance a few hundred ohms
Bill

Emission at either voltage is not a problem<:-)) I don't remember the
emission limit, but it's way past several amps and the filament voltage
is not critical.
