That's interesting ... when I used them in the 60's they were rated for 10 
KVDC, and
that was the mated spec. Perhaps the 5 KV rating is for an unmated connector, or
maybe it's due to global warming ??

MHV is what I'm using on my new 8877. They are rated for 5KV. They're a little 
expensive but keep your eye on EBay for them.
