REPEAT:  If you operate "vox" your voice activates and initiates the  
engagement of the radio and hence the amp relay.  You have already said a  
syllable 
or 2 before all the relays respond and therefore they get  chopped.  If you run 
PTT, you click your mic, the relays engage, then you  speak, you don;t drop 
anything from your voice.  That's why so many who run  VOX are always Ahhhh'ing 
before they talk, or they drag the first word they say  like " Whisssskkkeeyy
