Thanks for the tip Carl, I guess it's time to panic buy some 572B's and
drive the price up higher. Got to keep the old Clipperton going.

The 1500 has a controlled warm up and a very fragile grid requiring
protective circuits that you hope always work.
If overdriven the 1500 is maybe a few tenths of a dB louder.
The AL-572 is reliable and impossible to overdrive at 100W. Dont drive
it any harder. However there is some rumbling about replacement 572B
tube shortages and possible production end. The Chinese, being excellent
capitalists, make more money building tubes for the audiophools.
