1) true
2) WHAT THE REACTIVE COMPONENT OF THE LOAD DOES IS CREATE A PHASE SHIFT
BETWEEN CURRENT AND VOLTAGE ON THE LINE. AS SUCH, IF THE SWR IS DIFFERENT
FROM 1:1 THE RAEACTIVE CONPONENT WILL BE ALWAYS PRESENT TO A GREATEP OR
LESSER DEGREE. YOU MAY HIT A POINT WHERE THE RESISTIVE COMPONENT GETS CLOSE
TO Z0 BUT WHETHER OR NOT YOU HIT SIMULTANEOUSLY A POINT O ZERO REACTANCE IS
ANYBODY'S GUESS.

Have I got it wrong?
As I see it:
True: Changing the length of a transmission line will not change the SWR.
True: It the SWR is other than !:1, trimming the line may bring one to a
point where there is a voltage or current node, and the load will be
resistive with no reactive component.
