I rember that this was discussed some time ago but couldnt find it. I would like to use one big PS (5 KV@ 2A CCS) left over from an old AM BC TX to run several amps with different HV requirements. These will all be in the 1200-1500W range and only one would be in use at a time. They require 2500 to 3500V. Would a 5KVA Variac provide acceptable performance or are there better devices in the SS world?
