If there's enough volts appear across the tube to allow  the use of VTVM with 
RF probe to measure it when you do this test, then you also get the advantage 
of being able to make sure that you haven't got a nasty RF choke resonance 
before applying power. This is a very delicate test, and well worthwhile.

Chuck, you might find it worthwhile disconnecting the coupling capacitor from 
the tubes, just in case there's a funny somewhere there.....
