[Amps] AL-82 Question

I have an Ameritron AL-82.  The SSB/CW switch stopped working.  It seems to 
have no effect.  Looking at the schematic, it appears that the switch just 
shorts a 7.5V zener diode so I am guessing the diode just shorted 
internally.  Has anyone had this problem and does it sound like I am on the 
right track?
