[Amps] Band switching

Hello All,
 
Might be a stupid question......
To avoid using old ledex to swich the tank coil, why one doesn't use
relays or PIN diode ?
What are approximatively the voltage that can be expected on the
switching point with say a 1.5 Kw. ( what when in presence of a
missmatch of the tank )
