8877s are pricey, but you can get essentially the same performance 
from a single GS-35b for about $120 including shipping. It requires 
slightly more drive, but well within the capabilities of the typical 
100-watt transceiver. Also, if you are handy with simple metalworking 
tools like a hole saw, you don't even need a socket. It can be 
mounted directly to the chassis.
And of course, it's much more impressive looking to your family and 
friends. :-)
