Maybe you should try it with **TWO** 3-500ZGs, like my Henry runs. It will
provide nearly 4kV at 1A with Peter Dahl upgrades.

3-500Zs typically begin to run out of emission above 420mA per each.

But of course, and we always drive at the speed limit on freeways.
I have owned MANY 3-500 type amps!! Probably the Ameritron AL-82 runs the
3-500Z tube higher than most other amps using the 3-500. Some Henry amps may
slightly exceed the Ameritron, but not by much. With an honest 100 watts to a
bird dummy load and a bird wattmeter (read by 2 separate slugs in same meter) I
have NEVER seen 2000 watts output from any type of 3-500 tube. And certainly
with no less than 100 watts for sure.
