Ferrites exibit material permeability change with temperature. Plate choke
is an element which is in close proximity to the tube which is very hot. I
think, if such a choke has any influence on the plate curcuit impedance, the
effect will drift with temperature and the network will get detuned as
temperature in the compartment changes. The effective inductance of such a
choke will differ from the design figure and in extreme cases will drop to
the value of a non-magnetic core. Ferrite manufacturers have more info on
this  subject, available on their web sites.

To Dennis's point, it is also to be considered that the end of the winding
is close to its beginning on toroids.
