Carlos: I can't help you with the switch , but yes, you can run the 572B's
without any mods, it's just that it's kind of a waste of good tubes.I
wouldn't buy new 572B's , but as long as you've got them you can use them.
If it were mine I'd use the tubes only until I could get a new set of
811A's.
There is one item that could be fatal to your exciter if you have a modern
solid state rig. the 30-L1 keying ckt uses 120 volts for the ant. relay.
I'd strongly suggest you look into the use of "soft keying" setup to reduce
the keying voltage requirements. you need to look closely at things like the
filter caps, and any sign of overheating or other damage also.!!!
