Bruce,
I've seen them used with success. The only difference is they're
straight and the SK406 chimney folds over top of the tube forming a
mouth. It was designed to try and force some air over the top of the
tube. I also seen someone use mayonase jars with the top and bottom cut
off. They cut the neck off with the threads, making the mouth, and the
bottom off where it started to round over. On ceramic tubes, I seen a
guy use those brown ceramic flower pots this way, just cut the bottom
off and stuck it down over the tube.
