250v positive with restect to the grounded grid. Thus, in an amplifier
that uses a 3000v supply, the anode potential swing is 3000v -250v =
2750v downward during the conduction-half of each cycle. Since the
resultant sinewave is linear, the positive upward swing generated by the
tank is also 2750v, so the maximum anode to grid potential is 5750v
during the cutoff-half of each cycle.
