Thanks fellas. I did the switching that you suggested and isolated the amp
pretty quick.

It was the T/R relay in the HF-2500. Contacts weren't very dirty at all,
but burnished them with a piece of paper and I'm back up and running. That
relay was a bear to get to, but that seems to be the problem. Amp only had
about 15 hours on it when I bought it, but it was sitting around for 2
years. Probably just accumulated some dirt or film. Amp had a slight cig.
smoke aroma, but the owner stopped smoking well before getting the amp.

Tom--about the HFT-1500 tuner: It seems to work okay. I rarely bring the
amp up to 1500 watts ooutput, but when I do, I haven't experienced any
arcing. It tunes my 80 mtr dipole on all frequencies from 80-10.

ICOM came through pretty quick with a return authorization for the 756PRO,
via fax. Glad that that wasn't the problem!

Thanks again. You fellows are a great resource! Imagine, all the
industries accumulated knowledge, at one location!! I'm impressed.

Regards,

Ken, AB4JB
