I just liberated a diode bridge from a radio junk yard.
It is by "CKE," whomever that is; Model # CK236.
There are 120 diodes in the bridge, made by "GI"
Model # GI 8823.
The unique thing about the bridge is that there are no caps
or resistors across each diode, but there is an MOV; made
by CKE, Model # Z420LA20A.
The obvious questions are:
!. What is the current and PIV rating of this bridge?
2. Is putting MOV's across diodes in a bridge old technology
that was discarded because it was unnecessary, or a
good idea; then, and/or now?
Any help on these numbers will be appreciated,( or the tel.#
or web site for "CKE.")
