Now hear this:
The EIMAC people have been extremely helpful over the years. They send
QUICKLY all their APPLICATION NOTES for amateurs, a complete set of data
sheets, CARE AND FEEDING OF POWER TUBES, data sheets on every interesting
new tube came right away.
During my only visit to the States 10 years ago I stopped by at the factory
near San Francisco a few days after the earthquake and Reid Brandon took me
under his wings the whole day. I had a chance to see how tubes were made,
Reid took me to an ex swedish amateur once employed by EIMAC ( Eric W6DU )
and we made a little round-trip as well.
The most fantastic thing happened a few months later. I delivered to the
EIMAC people a 8877 for investigation to see what was wrong with it. Called
them a few months later to see why I had not got my tube back and a report
what was wrong with the tube? They could not find this tube of mine and now
hear this: a few days later after my telephone call, a man from DHL knocked
at my door and put a parcel in my hand. Inside was a brand new 8877 made
only a few weeks earlier and I had not to pay one single swedish crown.
EIMAC payed everything: transport, DHL, swedish customs and tax. At that
time the price tag on that tube was almost the same as my pension. I really
have no reason to be not satisfied with the EIMAC people and the question
is: why I here have to look at your angry messages? I suspect that since
Bill Orr W6SAI retired ( has he ? - from EIMAC????) very little has been
published for radio amateurs by EIMAC. He was publishing a great lot of
valuable EIMAC info over the years in his RADIO HANDBOOK and different ham
magazines. I know - I believe I have them all.
Now, how can I scan my ( and hopefully others as well ) amp material into my
computer. And what about copyrights if it is going to be avaiable to all you
amplovers as well?
