This is very true; I've found it especially so with kite antennas when
portable. I get noticeably less QRN on 15 and 10, where I have gamma matches
(no DC continuity on the coax) when I put an RFC across the feedline, and I
wouldn't have expected that, since the centre of the coax is shielded. For
LF antennas, a tuner that grounds the antenna DC wise is at least a good
idea, if not a 'must'.
There are also advantages in lightning protection - it has been said that a
high grounded metal structure discharges the atmosphere to some extent, so
that there are fewer lightning strikes. If the converse was true, and the
grounded structure attracted strikes, then overhead power cables should be
hitmore often than they are.
The only prpoblem is if your electricity supply is the pernicious UK form of
Protective Multiple Earthing.
