With sufficient loss the antenna will be virtually invisible. In any case it appears from experience that it does not take much to dampen the arc and the distributed C to ground in the coax may help. The value does not appear to be very critical, in the NCL-2000 they used a 10pf 1KV silver mica. Iv'e used everything from silver mica, 3KV disc ceramic, and 5KV doorknobs depending on the amp. Capacity ranges of 10-15pf seem sufficient. 73 Carl KM1H >Steve > >-- >FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/ampfaq.html >Submissions: amps@contesting.com >Administrative requests: amps-REQUEST@contesting.com >Problems: owner-amps@contesting.com >Search: http://www.contesting.com/km9p/search.htm > _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
