Hello All,
I am thinking about building an HF power amp with a Russian GS-35b
triode I was given some time ago. Unfortunately, with the tubes I have I
only got very limited information, and I am now looking for a full data
sheet for this tube (and application information if it exists).
The GS-35b is a forced air cooled triode with a maximum plate
dissipation of 2KW and a maximum usable frequency of 1 GHz. What's
really nice about these tubes is their low heater voltage/current
requirements. A couple of amps at 12 volts will do the trick. Compare
that to the 50 odd amps at 7.5 volts you need to pump in those bigger
3cx's.
I have been told this tube is very similar to the GS-7b-1 (the 'a'
version is water cooled). Any information on that one is welcome as
well.
