Comments:
Solar X-rays were just above C2-level, with
a C4.8 flare peaking at 1248Z. With the Sun
circling at its highest path during the next
8 weeks (in the Northern Hemisphere) it is
natural to have a fair amount of attenuation
on 14 MHz in the USA azimuth. Mainly the track
over the more Northern paths yields the best
signals when Aurora is missing. Today especially
Maine was coming through strong with Den NA1NA
on both 14/21 and Dennis W1UE on 21 MHz. Also
on the latter Daryl VP5/WT3K was a nice catch.
Most other big rabbits down the USA East Coast
were very weak on both 14/21 MHz. Time for just
two CQ calls left on 21 MHz before the finish.
