Ugh! What rotten conditions!
After 3 hours I decided I could earn more points with XYL and
go to the neighborhood get together. Pulled the plug with a several
hours left feeling exhausted from being worn down from our recently
adopted toddler. Got to learn how to pace myself before a contest
with the little guy.
Did try the 2 radio thing. Neat! Thanks to Dave, KT0R, I was able to
build a two radio switch box by copying his example. Ordered a
Yeasu 890 but, UPS strike slowed downed the alternate carrier and rig
didn't arrive. Thanks again to Dave who let me use his 751A.
Made 26 Q's on second rig and was able to keep checking 15 and 10.
Was over two hours into contest before I caught the short and weak
opening on 15. Nothing on 10. Really fun being able to check the
other bands to see what's going on while CQing. It's going to take
some time to get good at it but, I'm hooked on using two rigs!
