[Yaesu] FT-920 CAT Programming Question

I'm trying to write a little program to control the FT-920 and having a 
heck of a time... I'm a professional Windows programmer but haven't messed 
with serial I/O before. I think the port is open OK but nothing I send to 
the rig seems to be registered there (possibly a byte ordering problem?)


If anyone on this list has a code snippet (Visual Basic / C++ / Whatever) 
that shows how to send data to the FT-920, for example, to send the "status 
update" opcode and read the results I'd be grateful...  Please reply directly.
