I got on just before 1900 local time, checked in to the ON4KST chat, pointed my
beam towards Massachusets and Connecticut and...there was tremendous noise
level in that direction. I had a prearranged sked with K1PXE (FN31) at 1915,
that didn't look promising. For 15 minutes, I called CQ towards both CT and
then Philadelphia with no response. At the prearranged time, 1915, on the
designated frequency, I called Pete on CW (I was running 1KW) for 10minutes and
heard nothing except ..."the noise". I gave up.
I then worked WA3NUF (FN20) on both CW and SSB, WA3DRC (FM28), WZ1V (FN31),
KC1V (FN31) on CW and K1TEO (FN31) on SSB. Although Jeff commented about noise
in my direction, I had no noise problem for any of those last three contacts.
Look for me next week.
