That's why I bought from UST. The cable crimp is the biggest potential
failure point if not done properly.
Not worth the risk for the few extra dollars having it come from the
manufacturer.

I used it and it is no way close to the crimp on the original cable. It looks like it would be fine for crimping cables that might be used to suspend an item for display or possibly something like a garage door cable but didn't feel comfortable tilting my tower over on it.I did call them on W2LK's suggestion and the cable is $122.00. They were going call the Kansas plant to see when they could ship and get back to me, it was pretty close to closing time in Kansas. They didn't make it today, hopefully they will call tomorrow.I guess I didn't think about them. In my mind I guess I thought of the winch as coming from somewhere else. We'll see what happens when they call me back.Phil N9LAH On 8/17/2015 4:11 PM, Drax Felton wrote:Why not just buy a 1/4" swagging tool? I have purchased replacement cable but am having a heck of a time finding someone who can properly terminate it for me. Any suggestions fromany one on where to start looking? I hit up the local small airfield but they don't have anything for the 1/4" cable. I tried a shop that makeshydraulic hoses thinking they had presses, they might also have the dies forswagging but they don't either. Has anyone ever gotten winch cable replacements from UST directly?
