Oh? You're about to hear something else. The K-factor they use to rate
them is VERY protective of the hardware, because it pretends that the whole
weight of the antenna is at the turning radius. I have two of the smaller
ones, and my G-1000 has been happily turning a 2-element 40m yagi and a
C-3E for 6 years so far. A friend took down a G-1000 3-4 years ago after
6-7 years of turning a Cushcraft 40 and a 10-element Tennadyne LP in New
England, put it back up at his new QTH, and it's still chugging.
