Jerry,
I would not worry one bit about the C31XR. I have only had mine up for two
weeks but I have never been happier. I also have an A4 up 80 feet in a tree
which I have worked 327 countries with and until now thought it was just
fine. Every report I have had gives me 2 S units better signal with the
C31, both long hall and short distance QSO's. It is very windy here tonight
(near Seattle) and the antenna SWR does not appear to be moving at all. The
physical aspects of the antenna are excellent.

I also just assembled a C3 that we just shipped to Manihiki in the North
Cooks for this falls CQWW contest. Again, an excellent antenna.

Go for it....

73,
Roger, W7VV

This is not the first report of some F12 antennas needing spacers to avoid
wind-whipping problems. I've heard of this before, from a fellow who took
his down. He reportedly asked F12 about this, was told they haven't had a
problem, but then was sent some spacers to alleviate the problem. The
conclusion he drew was that if the F12 had no problems with this, how come
they had spacers on hand to resolve the problem? I hadn't thought much about
this with only the one report, but now there's several....I had been
considering this antenna up until now. I am following this thread with great
interest.
