On your planned multi-beverage receiving system.
For single wire beverages, the capacitor described in ON4UN's
book, Fig 7-17, is not necessary. The idea of a gradually sloping
beverage end is to reduce the ability of the beverage to pick up the
vertical component of noise. If you can't slope the ends, as in your
case, the idea is to shield that 10 foot vertical section of the beverage
as it drops down to the ground. Grounding the shield of the coax will
protect the center conductor (part of the beverage system) from picking
up the vertical component of noise.
The terminating resistor should be at ground level, not 10ft up.
Likewise, the matching transformer/feedpoint should be at
ground level. The center conductor of each 10 foot piece of
coax is part of the beverage. The coax shield is the protector
and should be grounded.
Connect matching transformers to each beverage, independent
from each other. Connect the coax side of the transformer to
your antenna switch box. Nice project!
