Skip, as described your 50ft Vert and small Cap hat are nowhere near
resonant at 1.83 the feed Z is therefore lower than it would otherwise be.
You need to add say 2 wires opposite each other as additional top loading
bringing the vertical to resonance and your feed Z up to at least 8.5 ohms
which will help the overall efficiency. Then go for a T match with a low L
value to keep the Match losses to a minimum. 73 Clive GM3POI
